How to enter the Happy Dance Contest
- Gather your family, your video recording device (AKA cell phone camera, usually) and turn on “Happy” by Pharrell.
- Start your video by holding up a sign with your family’s name on it (please use only last name as YouTube is a public site.)
- Record you and your family doing a Happy Dance for 30 seconds – 1 minute
- Post the video on YouTube
- Copy a link to your video and send it to info@supportforsingleparents.org Your email must have the contact information for your family and the names of all the participants.
- Attach a complete video release form with your entry.
- You are entered in the Happy Dance Contest! Finalists will be chosen from the video entries and will have a Dance Off at the Single Parent Support Network Family Day on Aug 2 at Golds Gym on Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City.
Rules for Happy Dance
- Only original videos can be considered for the contest.
- Load video on YouTube and email link to info@supportforsingleparents.org
- The deadline for entry is July 21.
- In the video, please identify your family by first name only as Youtube is public
- Please send contact information, including phone number and the names of all people in the video in the email.
- Attach the photography release form to your email
- To be eligible, the participants must be a) living in the same household OR be related as parent and child, by kinship or relationship
- The video should use the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams as the dance soundtrack
- The video should be no shorter than 30 seconds and no longer than 1 minute.
- Judging will be by a panel of judges from SPSN, Golds Gym, and a professional in the dance industry and will be based on energy, personality, originality, and communication of “happy”
- Finalists will be notified and will compete for the grand prize at the Single Parent Family Day on Aug.2
- Participants in the video should not be clothed provocatively
- If a video features anything deemed to be offensive, it will be immediately disqualified. That includes offensive body language, any evidence of illegal activity, or questionable items in the background.
